Today, independent journalist Guillermo Fariñas was rushed to hospital a second time, after collapsing after 16 days on hunger strike.
EFE reports that Fariñas collapsed around 13.45 at his home in Santa Clara, "and was taken to the provincial hospital Castro Arnaldo Milian relatives and journalists who were visiting him".
The doctor Ismel Churches said the journalist woke up with low pressure, tachycardia and visible symptoms of dehydration.
Fariñas had rejected minutes before his transfer to a medical institution to do a professional screening.
Fariñas began two weeks ago his hunger strike to demand the release of 26 Cuban political prisoners patients whose condition is incompatible with the prison, and to protest the death of the opposition also Orlando Zapata Tamayo.
