Cuba Solidarity Day 2010

After a year filled with sad news of human hardship from Cuba, it is again essential for the world to show support for the Cuban people during Cuba Solidarity Day 2010, next May 20th.

On that day let’s raise our voices together and show that we know and care about the death of political prisoner Orlando Zapata Tamayo, about independent journalist Guillermo Fariñas’ hunger strike, about the brutal repression against the Ladies in White, and the consistent violation of human rights in the hands of the Cuban regime.

Join the Global Cuba Solidarity Movement (www.solidaridadcuba.org) and show your support with the Cuban people. Plan your event! It can be a vigil, a film screening, a panel discussion, or any other peaceful demonstration. For more ideas on how to get started and to register your event on our global tracking map, please visit: http://www.solidaridadcuba.org/eng/global-cuba-solidarity-movement.php
After your event please don’t forget to write us and tell us about the results and send us pictures and testimonies that we can share with others to increase the reach and impact of your efforts. You can email us at info@solidaridadcuba.org or via Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Movimiento-Mundial-de-Solidaridad-con-Cuba/12814187849?ref=mf.

From Geneva, Switzerland.
Another year of human hardship for the Cuban people who struggle daily to stay alive. How much longer will people have to bear until democracy reaches Cuba? The US government should now stand up, take the lead and remove the economic and trade embargo and one will see how Castro's autocratic and repressive regime will crumble to pieces. President Obama, I am convinced that you have what it takes to make it happen, and this political and diplomatic action is desperately needed.

Let us all join forces to rescue Cuba and its people from the human misery it is living.
